Start by Setting Goals You Can Actually Achieve

The first step in time management is to set a series of goals and prioritize them based on their importance. Then make a list of them and see what changes you go through in your path.

By setting goals you make it clear by which goals you intend to manage your time, and what you aim to achieve by managing your time.

While writing down your goals on paper, you realistically define the achievable minimums as goals. It means you shouldn't write down goals which you can't handle. It doesn't matter how many goals you have. You can make a long list of goals. What matters is that these goals are doable and achievable.

Sometimes you are confused and you don't know what task you should do. You think none of your plans is brought into effect. Concentrate your thoughts and start taking notes of tasks you need to do.

The second step is to organize and prioritize your tasks based on the importance of goals. Which goal has the highest priority? And which tasks need to be done sooner in order to achieve each goal?

Make a list of the tasks you need to do, such as finishing a work project or going to the movies with your friends. While doing so, you face tasks that you have postponed and evaded for various reasons. You will probably end up with a long list of undone tasks in front of you and it may make you stressed out. Keep your written list in a notebook, computer or mobile phone, on a platform you are accustomed to and somewhere always available.
