My Method: A Comprehensive Guideline for Your Website
My exclusive method for preparing a website action plan is to write a comprehensive guideline for backend and frontend sections.
That's how I do it: first, we start from top of the homepage and write down every single element of the page along with images, function and full description. For example, logo is the first thing we see on the homepage. We write it down in the guideline file and define the function made by clicking on the logo in front of the logo item: for example, directing to the main page. Then, we write down the next item existing on the homepage of the site along with its function. For example, the next one is the option "user account" which function is to direct the viewer to the sign-in/register page. The new options on the new page directed by clicking on user account must be fully written in the comprehensive frontend guideline of the website.
In addition, all pages and options of the admin section are registered in the back-end part along with images.
You see below an example of the comprehensive frontend guideline for one of my websites named Dr.advertise.
top link/ Navigation (main menu): contains MENU – Cart – Login / Register
menu: includes the list of main categories and Deal
cart: direction to the payment page and summary of picked products
login/ register: direction to registration page/ form
logo: direction to the home page (check 4.6. logo in Admin page) By preparing this comprehensive guideline, your direction is clear, whether at the time of launching or operating your website, and whenever you confront a problem, you simply refer to the guideline.
