In-Person Advertising for Print Brokers: Samples, Catalogs and Instant Prices

You can use conventional methods such as sending emails and having a face-to-face conversation to advertise your printing business. Face-to-face advertisement is still considered a unique and favorite method. Some customers are willing to see the designed samples of a printed project in person and touch the paper themselves.

When giving in-person counseling, bring some popular samples of printed projects such as visiting cards, folders, brochures, catalogs and posters. Keep some elegant and expensive models in a case and carry them with you all the time. In in-person negotiation, the first impression the other party gets of you is of great importance. Put aside any presumption you have about the other party as soon as you enter the meeting, and then open the case containing your work samples. Along with the case, have a catalog containing images of your other work samples.

You should also have a list of the prices of your products. In this job, it is absurd to have a time-consuming process for calculating the price. Back in the day, it would take two days to two months for a printing office to announce the price. I used to announce a price immediately and take the project. Instant quotation is one of the important tools. In your price list, discard prime cost and simply put the selling price. An advantage of doing so is that you can avoid bargaining.

Define the formula for how the price of a product increases with a rise in the price of paper, printing plate or press. For example, a 25% increase in the price of paper will add 10% to the price of a brochure. Using such a formula, you can calculate final prices at any time.
