Why Good Ideas Fail to Get Funded
Keep that in mind that when you have an idea, that idea may have occurred to hundred other people, as well. Of all these people, ten thousand of them might have taken it more seriously, and of those who did it, only a hundred of them go through with it. Therefore, it is almost impossible for you to have a unique idea of your own. There is a TV show in which people introduce their ideas to investors in order to get their contribution. Then, the investors brutally criticize those people and question the fundamental nature of their ideas.
There is a reason those investors are millionaires and they know better than anyone what kind of work will pay off.
In most cases, we get involved with our own ideas and overlook their drawbacks. As we mentioned before, it is in the middle of writing our business plans and scrapbooks when we realize our visions are inaccurate and we stop.
Another reason why people fail in getting finance is improper presentation. It is essential to understand how to present. If you have the best idea in the world but fail to present it properly, you won’t succeed; just like how some people ruin a good joke by the awkward way they tell it! The key part of a presentation is that the investors must clearly notice how investing in your work would benefit them.
