Declining Dwight's Jobs: Steve Knows He No Longer Needs Them
“Okay, that takes care of the changes Larry has made to our Stevenetwork.com website. The Idea Marketplace is fully up and running. Already, we've seen some major projects get posted,” Greg said.
“Good, good. What about the office space? How's that going? Want some more coffee?” he asked as he crossed the living room to the kitchen to pour himself a cup.
“No thanks,” Greg replied. “I prefer coffee you don't have to chew. I found two places. One's up on Lee Road; the other is down on South Street. Both have good square footage, easy access to I-4 and they can handle our electronic needs.”
Steve left the kitchen, crossed the living room to his desk and sat down. “Good. Set up a meeting with the owners. Anything else?” Steve asked.
“Got a call from Dwight. Says he's desperate to get some help with his latest catering job. He says he could use your help,” Greg trailed off.
Steve laughed. “This from the man who said that he wouldn't hire me again no matter what?”
“Yeah, yours truly. One and the same,” Greg snorted.
“Oh, I don't know. I don’t think I’ll need his jobs anymore,” Steve said with confidence.
“True, but I thought I should at least mention it to you,” replied Greg.
“Thanks, but I'm thinking I'll pass on his jobs. I will give him a call and see how he's doing, though. I mean, after all, we're still buddies.”
