Branding Takes Patience: Principles to Follow Before Any Strategy
After selecting the name, design, color palette and typographies of a logo, you need to define a strategy to consider:
How can you introduce your brand to the target market so it would be noticed and recognized?
Using what tools can you bang the drum for your business name and popularize it?
Consider branding strategies in your business plan and marketing plan.
Don’t forget that branding doesn’t happen overnight. Therefore, you must be really patient.
“Persistence” is an extremely vital tool in branding. Therefore, participate in the market constantly, using various methods so customers would be accustomed and habituated to you.
Habit creates awareness.
When customers see your continuous participation in the market, they assume that you have been there all the time and they forget that you have been in the market since, say, last year.
1. Select a good advertising slogan.
2. Look for advertising tricks so you can introduce your brand to the audiences attractively.
3. If you intend to become a brand, follow up the process of making your brand known and getting recognition for it.
4. To proceed and make your work a success, ask for help from experts in branding. You can add to your knowledge by studying and taking notes, but you will need the cooperation of experts when it’s time to implement the plan. In the past, there was an expression called wisenheimer. However, there is no know-it-all nowadays.
5. Engage all the members of various departments in the company in branding and define job descriptions for them.
6. Apply new methods in addition to conventional effective ones. If you ignore the research method and updating your business, you will quickly collapse. There has been a mistake made in the past even in the US market that whenever a method was effective, people would repeat it not knowing current developments affect conventional methods. Yahoo was once a mogul in communication and email services, but it couldn’t manage to adapt to changes so Gmail replaced it.
7. If you have multiple brands, you need to make arraignments and plans for each one separately. However, if you have only one brand, put your entire focus on that brand and proceed with the design, color palette, trademark, typography and other items in the direction of promoting that particular brand.
