Turn Your Team, Participants and Visitors into Marketers

Think about what people you can involve and use their oratorical powers and word-of-mouth advertising so more people get informed and more visitors are absorbed. Three groups are helpful: the event organizing team, the participants including booth holders and sponsors, and the visitors.

All members of the organizing and marketing team, from a subordinate employee to the management, can play a role in content providing and apply their resources on social media, blogs and other platforms to promote the event.

The second group, the participants, has a high potential to help you. Provide a setting for them to post about the event using their own name. Determine where the booths are located and ask the participants to inform their social media audiences. Provide them with a discount code for selling tickets. Provide ready content they just need to post with their own logo. Teach them to announce their presence before the event, introduce their booth and activities, and post photos and a report when the event is over. Come up with a specific hashtag for the event to be used by everybody. Assign a prize and offer a free booth in the next event to anyone who absorbs the highest number of audiences through social media. Participants then work to promote themselves, and everybody eventually benefits.

The third group is visitors. If social media tools are applied properly, as much as a person likes one of your posts, all the people who know this person will be informed that he or she is going to attend. Engage the audiences so they leave comments.

On the day of the event, create some attractions: appealing spaces for photo shooting and filming, live music, and encouragement to announce presence using the hashtag. Internet access in the venue is an important tool; you should not wriggle out of it no matter how much it costs. Stream the event live, and save the live viewers' information, because these viewers are potential customers for your next events.
