Collaborating with the Media: Choose Platforms by Audience and Budget
Every event requires PR services which can prepare the proper verbal and written content and communicate with the audiences effortlessly, with full awareness of the event. Media is one of the most powerful communicating tools in the world. Any type of business is explicitly or implicitly affected by the media. Try to make mutual agreements with the media.
You can offer collaboration to popular media whose audiences are common with your target market. Media can put your ad on their platforms; they can recommend your offer to their primary customers and announce that they are the media sponsor of your event; or you can provide a combined offer. For example, if someone orders an ad from the media, they can rent a booth from you with a 20-30% discount, or a free page in a media platform is given to the customer who rents a booth from you.
If collaborating with the media is not possible, you have to spend a certain amount on advertising depending on your budget. First, prepare a list of media platforms which have common audiences with your target market and insert it in a table with the media's info. Check who the audiences are and where they are located. Then compare the ad cost of each media to your budget. If the ad cost of a platform is higher than your budget, remove it from your options. Of the platforms that fit your budget, compare the costs with the return on capital you will get from each. If the balance is positive, order your event's ad.
Many organizations on your association list have their own exclusive press and media which share audiences with your events, so include them.
Ordering ads is the most common method. Contact the corresponding medium once, then order your ads, and conduct your advertisement using a clear plan. Ordering ads without any goals shows you had no strategy. Making relations with prominent figures of each medium, such as hosts, reporters and announcers, is a privilege that facilitates reaching an agreement.
