Tending Bar at a Wedding and Listening for Money Ideas

While Greg and Jan tour a few of the available properties, Steve, as promised, is doing the gig for his friend Dwight. The venue is a large and very face place with a spectacular main building, a huge deck area, and a pool. Off in the distances is a golf course. Steve stands amid the party guests of a wedding reception at a large waterside home in a gated community populated with pro golfers and their impossibly attractive wives.

At the bar near the pool, Steve – dressed appropriately this time and very much blending in - is attempting to tend bar as best he can in his borrowed catering jacket and tie. Thirty wedding guests mill about enjoying their food and drinks. Steve tries to listen in on their conversations. Occasionally, he makes notes in his flea market knockoff iPhone Sometimes, he hears something, starts to make a note, and then shakes his head because he thinks it’s a bad idea.

Almost too loud but still a whisper Steve says, “Nope, no way - nothing illegal! That’s not for me.” The sounds of the party mix with the aroma of alcohol and the extreme wealth, which causes Steve to drift into a daydream. Soon he finds himself at the first hole of a large and fancy golf course. He is dressed in very expensive clothes, and is being driven up to the tee area by his caddy in a very large golf cart – the thing is practically a limo!

Well, yes. It’s a limo that has been modified into a stretch limo for the course. Steve gets out, and steps over to the tee. The Caddy gets a ball, club and tee - all of them solid gold. Setting everything up for Steve, he even puts the club in Steve’s hands, and positions him in front of the ball.

Steve steps over to the ball, looks down at it, and looks out down the fairway. “So, what do I do first?” Steve asks. “You address the ball, take aim, and shoot.” His caddy dressed in white and holding a large golf bag quietly leans back out of the conversation. For his own safety. “Address the ball?” Steve asks clearly confused.

“Ah... Okay….” Steve looks down at the ball. “Hello, ball! I’m going to hit you now. Warning – this might hurt.” Steve takes aim, swings the club - misses - and looks out into the fairway.
