How to Choose Events: From 1000 Down to 5

One of the most important marketing tools is events. Do not neglect participation in events and getting booths in the marketing plan. Participate in events and be a part of them.

First, find out what events are to be held across the country in the next year. Based on the target market you define in your marketing plan and the type of services and products you offer, a large number of them will inevitably be removed. Select the events whose visitors may be involved in your target market. The second topic is the geography of the event. The target market is geographically defined, and the program of each market is also specified. Design a plan for each geographic territory. When an event is held in a city, refer to your own plan for that city and implement all the programs in that event.

Therefore, the first priority is the target market; the second priority is the geographical area; and the third priority is to select events that are in harmony with your target market.

Suppose that you have a list of one thousand events. When you consider the target market, 900 events will be eliminated. Then specify the desired geographical area, and only 30 events will remain. Afterward, investigate which ones enjoy better conditions and more visitors. What are the introducing methods used by each? After these investigations, you may find five or ten events appropriate to attend. Then evaluate the budget. Sometimes attending events is so important to you that you may lessen the costs in other sections.

For B2B marketing, attending exhibitions is vital. Prioritize this method, reduce other costs and attend these events.
